Every language learner’s main goal is to one day become fluent in the language they are learning. However this will not be achieved without a little work from the person learning the language.

Read a lot

I’m not telling you to turn into a foreign language book worm but reading can be very fundamental in learning a language. There are a lot of vocabulary, grammar and phrases you can learn just by reading. Also for beginners it’s easier to understand written words than audio.

Watch foreign TV

Many of us grew up watching TV and it proves to be helpful in learning a language. With watching foreign TV you will learn pronunciation along with many new key phrases and words, you will also learn to appreciate the culture.

Don’t overwhelm yourself with translation

We tend to freak out when we don’t know the meaning of a word in our language. However, you will not know everything in a language no matter how much you study. Translating too much will make you learn the language slower and put burden on yourself. Leaning naturally for example will help you to learn faster and translation will come more naturally.

Speak as much as possible

From the moment you begin learning you begin speaking no matter the limited vocabulary. That means even if you know a few words you say them out loud so you can get your pronunciation down and get comfortable with those words.

Interact with native speakers

Here is a list of sites were you can find a language exchange partner. Or if possible it would be wonderful to live in the country’s language you are studying even for a few months. Native speakers will correct you on errors and you too can learn from them.

If you follow these tips then learning a language will become easier. All you need to do is put what you want into action so if you want to learn a language it starts by getting up and start learning something. :D
